Our Osaka store opens next week.
It took us almost two years to break into the Japanese market. Business there is completely different, and they really don’t like outsiders. We kept at it because the demand was already there: we import from Japan every month, and a big share of our Pokémon sales in Hawaii is Japanese product and singles.

On the same trip in October, I stayed at two of the best-known hotels in Europe, dressed the same way at both: jeans and a T-shirt.
At the Danieli in Venice, it felt like the staff didn’t want to help us. Our room barely got serviced. At one point we didn’t even have body wash.
A few days later at the Shangri-La in Paris, everything was amazing. They treated our kids great, and they never once made me feel out of place.
