Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel
Reviewed by Dorian Takahashi · 1 stay · Last stayed October 2026
One of the most beautiful hotels in Venice, with an amazing rooftop restaurant. Just don't expect anyone to care that you're there. I wouldn't go back.

Book it if…
- You want a historic, beautiful hotel in a great location on the lagoon
- Food and drink are a big part of the trip for you
Skip it if…
- You expect Four Seasons–level service to match the price
- You don't plan to dress up, and how staff treat you matters to you
The Danieli is one of the most beautiful hotels in Venice. Part of it is the historic Palazzo Dandolo, and it sits right on the waterfront, a short walk from St. Mark’s Square. The rooftop restaurant, Terrazza Danieli, is amazing.
The problem is the service. At this price, service is the point, and in my experience it wasn’t there, especially for guests who don’t look the part.

Beautiful hotel, really nice room, amazing rooftop restaurant, great location. The service was the problem. I wouldn't go back.
How they treated me: 3/10 · Read the full stay →- Is the Danieli in Venice worth the price?
- For the building, the location, the room, and the food, yes. For the service, no. In October 2026 the Premium Room was quoted at about €2,125 per night before 10% VAT and breakfast, and the service didn't match that.
- Would you stay at the Danieli again?
- No. The hotel, room, rooftop restaurant, and location are great, but the service didn't match the price. If you're in Venice, the rooftop restaurant is still worth a visit.
- Can you get connecting rooms at the Danieli?
- Yes, in select room categories, subject to availability. We booked two interconnecting Premium Rooms, but it took three days of follow-ups and an email to the general manager's office before reservations replied.
- Do Premium Rooms at the Danieli have twin beds?
- No. We were told all Premium Rooms have a king bed only. For our daughters they offered a "German bed" setup instead.
- How does the Danieli treat guests who don't dress up?
- In my experience, not well. We weren't in suits and jackets, and it felt to me like the staff didn't want to help us. Our room barely got serviced.
